eBOSS Ancillary Targets
The primary targets within eBOSS were all selected to satisfy the goals of the clustering, SPIDERS, or TDSS programs. There are no ancillary targets on the plates within the primary survey. However, there were three programs conducted within eBOSS that used dedicated plates with only ancillary targets. The first of those programs was a continuation of a dedicated BOSS ancillary program. The second and third acted as pilot surveys within eBOSS to prepare for a large galaxy clustering program within eBOSS and a possible AGN science program for a future survey.
